Scattered over almost all the orography in the Gran Canaria Biosphere Reserve, cave-dwellings were built carved in the rock and very often from existing natural caves which were located in the steep walls. Thes dwellings, originally carved by the aboriginals of the island, are still used  nowadays but with all the comfortable conveniences of the modern era. One of the main features is the stable temperature inside the dwelling, even when in the outside it can be really cold or warm depending on the time of the year, inside the cave-dwelling the thermomether remains around a pleasant 21 degrees Celsius average.
